01Why is there a setup fee?
Because setup is real work, not an activation charge. It covers professional-information research, writing and scope refinement, configuration, review and launch preparation, and structuring the clinic-approved links. That build is the foundation monthly service then maintains. This is why the two numbers stay separate instead of being blended into one inflated subscription.
02Does ProfileMD replace Ocean or my clinic systems?
No, and it isn't designed to. ProfileMD explains and points. Your systems collect. Ocean, secure email, online booking, patient portals and your EMR stay exactly where they are, owned and controlled by you.
03Does ProfileMD collect patient information?
Public ProfileMD pages do not collect patient information. Anything patient-specific, including forms, submissions, medication or symptom detail, travels through your existing secure, clinic-approved workflows.
04Can secure-workflow handoffs be added later?
Yes, and that's the recommended order. Build the public profile first. Add approved secure links once the destination, wording, ownership, routing, review process and testing are confirmed. That work is scoped and quoted separately.
05Who pays for Ocean and other secure tools?
Those subscriptions are normally clinic-owned and stay that way. ProfileMD service fees and third-party software fees are always billed separately, so you never lose sight of what you're paying whom for.
06When does monthly service begin?
At publication, the day your approved profile goes live. Not the day you sign, and not the day the setup fee is paid. If the profile isn't published, monthly service hasn't started.
